Writing has been a booming industry which composes of employed and freelance writers. Here are a few accomplished Pune Contemporary writers.
1. Kinjal Sethia
Kinjal is a freelance writer and an editor based in Pune. Her work has been published and featured in Nether Quarterly and EKL Review. She is the fiction editor of The Bombay Magazine and is a part of the poetry community of The Quarantine Train.
2. Kinshuk Gupta:
Kinshuk is another writer hailing from Pune. He believes writing preserves his creativity during unfortunate and unforgiving instances in life. He also taps into newer worlds to understand his life in a way that is unblemished by social as well as personal conditioning. He uses his scalpel of his to write about his experiences during the time he was studying medical at his undergraduate level.
3. Smita Sahay
Smita is the Editor-in chief of Usawa Magazine. She is a writer and poet based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. She has served as an Associate Editor of Veils, Halos and Shackles International Poetry on Oppression and Empowerment of Women and is a visiting faculty at Whistling Woods International.
4. Sheetal Sanghvi
Sheetal has completed her BSL, LLB as well as her LLM, from UK. The poem ‘The Girl Child’ has been published by the National Library of Poetry, Maryland presented in an anthology ‘The Last Good Bytes. She has been interviewed by Pune Times for her poetry.
5. Pathik Mitra
He is an engineer by profession who is interested in writing since his school days. He admires Tagore, Satyajit Ray and Ruskin Bond. Pathik likes stories about making a change in society. He is also a great theatre enthusiast.
6. Swati Shome
Swati is a speaker about Adolescent Issues with Times- NSE. Her talks in schools are usually based on her latest book, Let’s Talk about Guys, Girls and Sex. This book is a candid completion of personal anecdotes and information that gives a starting point for discussion on the topic.
7. Arun
Arun is the founder of Pune Writers Group. Pune Writers Group is an independent community of writers practicing the craft of writing since 2014. They usually meet and write as well as discuss literature, art, society as well as science three times a week.
8. Vikas Prakash Joshi
Vikas hails from Pune, a city famous for its artists, theatre industry and educational institutions. He holds a Master’s degree in Development Studies and Journalism, from TISS and Asian College of Journalism. His tryst with writing started in a very young age when his work was published started getting published in the school newspaper.
9. Dr. Bala Ramadurai
He is an author, coach, a consultant and a professor. He has written a book on Design Thinking called ‘Karmic Design Thinking. He holds a PhD from the Arizona State University USA and a B. Tech IIT Madras India.
10. Aryamba Narasimhamurthy
Aryamba S. N is a poet and writer. She has co-authored ‘Inked Imagination’ and has worked for several magazines and newspapers. She has worked both as a lecturer and in the IT Industry. Her favorite quote is from Robert Frost’s poem, The Road not Taken, “Two roads diverged in a yellow wood and I took the less one travelled by and that has made all the difference.
